1 Frequently asked questions
1.1 What happens if I order items in multiples are you run out?
This can happen that you order items and we do not have all the items. We will ship to you the items we do have and refund the items we can no longer supply. If it is vital you received all the items in the order please add a note to your order to state this is your requirement.
1.2 Do you take payments via Klarna?
Yes we do! We have partnered with Klarna so that you can buy now and pay later subject to a number of checks and
18+, T&C apply, Credit subject to status. Click on the link to find out more.
1.3 Are you a registered company?
Our VAT number is 151 835 121.
1.4 Do you cut keys?
We cut keys such as door keys for mortice and latch locks. We provide this service while you wait. We also offer discounts on duplicates of multiple keys. It is always best to ring the store and speak to someone if you think you have a complex requirement.
1.5 Do you deliver?
Local Delivery offered is local to Scarborough North Yorkshire, England, UK (within a 8km radius of our bricks & mortar store).
At present we can only ship small items, and less than 2kg to locations in the UK. Please email to check before placing your order.
If we can send it it will be second class service unless differently stated.
If a next day or 1st Class delivery service is offered this does not mean you will receive it the next day, as our fulfilment process may take a couple of days, however it does means we will pay the courier for a 1st class or next day service
If a refund has to be raised due to ordering items for local delivery or click and collect and the order can not be fulfilled due to you choosing the wrong shipping option (eg you are not local) you will be charged a fee and a full refund will not be given.
1.6 Do you ship outside of the UK?
At the moment no we do not. We only ship within the UK.
1.7 Do you mix paint colours?
We are a dulux stockiest and have their paint machine in store. This means we can colour match using the colour scanning system and we can mix paint to 100's different colours.
1.8 What day's you open over the festive period?
We close at 1pm on 24th December. Reopen on 28th December. Then we are closed 1st January.
Some stores make a big song and dance about giving their staff time off on Boxing Day but as you will see we give our staff plenty of time off during the festivities to spend time with family and friends. That's what you get with a totally independent local family managed business. Now that's Handy.
1.9 Are you open Sundays?
We are open Sundays in April through to the end of December. The hours are 10:00am to 4:00pm.
1.10 Do you have any job vacancies?
At the moment we are fully staffed. We do have vacancies from time to time, and it is always worth dropping a CV into store stating how you can help us to give great customer service. 1.11 Are dogs allowed?
We are a dog friendly store but we would add a couple of provisos as we often have a our own dogs in store and so your dog may sense this. Dogs must be kept on a short lead, any mess or damage must be cleaned up and damaged paid for. We also do not allow dogs on our upper floors, only the ground floor.
We love dogs especially well behaved pooches that like a stroke!
