Clean outside areas - patio, decking, moss, windows. Buy seed potatoes and set them out in a tray for shoots to form (chitting out). Sow summer bedding in pots, keeping in a heated propagator to germinate. Winter-prune roses, buddleia, dogwoods and willows. Position plant support frames above tall-growing clumps of perennials. Sow tomatoes, chillies, peppers, cucumber, and herbs in the greenhouse. |
Sow sweet peas and hardy annual flowers in beds for summer colour. Prepare and level areas earmarked for sowing lawns or laying turf. Rake over ground and clear of weeds. Sprinkle fertiliser around clumps of spring-flowering bulbs. Plant tomatoes and other crops into grow bags in your greenhouse. Make time to hoe borders and hand weed beds. |
Feed your lawn and treat problems such as moss and weeds. Buy summer bedding for planing into pots and hanging baskets. Plant out dahlia tubers, gladioli, eucomis and other summer bulbs. Plant potatoes into large pots or on allotments and veg plot. Sow pots of beans, courgettes and sweetcorn to plant out next month. |
