Clear Flat Plastic Sheeting available in a variety of types, sizes, and thicknesses.
Information on Styrene
Styrene (or Polystyrene) glazing sheet is commonly used for indoor applications like picture frames and showcases, or for outdoor shed and greenhouse glazing because of its low cost.
Advantages of Styrene sheet:
- stronger than float glass and less hazardous when broken
- glass clear (as other plastic glazing sheet)
Information on Acrylic
Acrylic sheet is glass clear and suitable for glazing applications as one side of the sheet (to be fitted facing the sun) is UV protected, significantly reducing ageing of the sheet. The UV protected side is generally the side with the printed protective film.
About 10 times stronger than float glass, but not nearly as strong as Polycarbonate sheet, Acrylic is half the weight of equivalent glass sheet and is easy to cut and drill.
Supplied in 2mm and 4mm thickness, in packs of multiple sheets, Acrylic (also known as Perspex) is suitable for secondary glazing projects, as well as office and counter sneeze screens.
